Reflections on Gratitude from Keen Wealth Advisors
Among the many things that I’m thankful for this year – and every year – is the incredible team here at Keen Wealth Advisors. I wanted to open up my annual Thanksgiving post to give my team an opportunity to express their gratitude and share a little bit of their lives and work with our audience.
Bill Keen, Founder and CEO
I am grateful for all of the amazing relationships in my life, from my wife, children, and new granddaughters to my Keen Wealth family that includes each and every team member of the firm and all of our amazing clients. I consider it a truly awesome privilege to be on this journey with so many and to have such close and enduring relationships!
Finally, I’d like to offer one last thank you to everyone who reads our blog posts, subscribes to our podcast, attends our educational events, and also to everyone who bought the 2nd Edition of my book, Keen on Retirement: Engineering The Second Half Of Your Life. I sincerely hope that our content has given you a clearer and more positive perspective on financial planning. If there’s anything we can do to help you prepare for a successful 2023, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
Brett Norris, CFP®, Senior Financial Planner
I’m so fortunate and thankful to be surrounded by great people every day, in almost everything I do—my family, my clients, and my colleagues. Collectively, they inspire me in so many ways and drive me to be a better version of myself. My wife and I were able to visit friends and explore new places more this past year than ever before, made possible by my wonderful teammates at Keen Wealth!
Gabrielle Gray, Client Support Administrator
I’m extremely grateful for the opportunity to spend the holidays with my family this year and to see them all in good health. I am also grateful to have wonderful friends and an abundance of animals in my life
Gibson Shaver, Client Support Administrator
I am very grateful for my family living in Kansas City and for being able to get together with them often. I am also grateful that I can easily call my family that lives further away and that I’ll be seeing them for Thanksgiving. I have so much to be thankful for this year, especially my husband and our recent marriage, our pets, and starting a new job at Keen Wealth Advisors!
Heather Collins, Senior Compliance Specialist
I am thankful for the wonderful new hires that have joined us recently: Gabi, Gibson, and Jake. They have been a great addition to our team and I am excited to see how they grow with Keen Wealth.
Jamie Thompson, Operations Manager
I am grateful for all the opportunities I have been given to grow both professionally and personally over the last year. Looking forward to what the New Year will bring!
Jeb Flynn, M.S., CFP®, CRPC®, Financial Planner
I am grateful for my daughter, born just over a year ago. Our first year with her has been such a joy as we’ve gotten to know her and are learning the many ways she’s positively impacted our lives.
Jesse Bunse, CFP®, Senior Financial Planner
I am grateful for the birth of our son Elijah Melvin Bunse this summer. The pregnancy got a bit chaotic toward the end but having both he and Sarah come out of it healthy is the biggest blessing of all. God answered all our prayers. Seeing him grow and develop over the last few months has been such a joy.
Josh Hill, , CFP®, CPA, Financial Planner
- Healthy, happy kids and a growing family.
- New hires and growing team to help serve more clients (which allowed me several consecutive weeks away when Lucy was born).
- My sister got engaged earlier this year, looking forward to a family wedding next summer.
Lisa Brummett, CFP®, CRPC®, Financial Planner
I am grateful for my family's health and most of all my kids. This is the day I dropped my oldest off at NWMSU.
Martha Paterik, Senior Client Service Associate
I am extremely grateful and excited to welcome a new nephew around Christmas. He will truly be a gift to the family.
Matt Wilson, CFP®, President and CIO
I am grateful for Tyler and Clara, who are growing up to be wonderful young adults, and my wife Amie who has put up with me since our first date over 20 years ago. I am also grateful for my career at Keen Wealth Advisors. In fact, I started my internship with Bill the same month that I went on my first date with Amie, April 2002. It has been rewarding to see the team grow over the years from Bill and myself to over 20 today. It has been a wonderful 20-year period. While there have been challenges over that time, I try to view challenges as opportunities for growth. I look forward to the next 20 years and the challenges that they bring.
Natasha Gibbons, Client Service Associate
I’m grateful for my daughter. I’m also grateful that despite being far from family, we have a great support system here.
Nick Nguyen, Financial Planner
I am grateful for my grandparents who are the pillars of my family. Their infinite love and wisdom have molded me to be the best that I can be every day.
Paul Hefferon, CFP®, Financial Planner
I am grateful to have found a place here at Keen Wealth Advisors and for the professional growth and relationships established with the team over the past year.
I am thankful for my kids, Calvin and Norah, our silly and loveable dog Finn, and for my beautiful and loving girlfriend, Becca. Also, for dear friends and family in Kansas City and my family of faith at Christ Community Church.
I'm thankful to God for sustaining me every day and filing me with love, joy, and peace.
Rey Arellano, CFP®, Senior Financial Planner
I’m grateful for the health and well-being of our family and all the adventures we took in 2022.
Robin Beach, Senior Client Service Associate
I am grateful for my family and friends. My husband Jeremy and I celebrated the birth of our daughter in 2021. It is a joy to watch Elaina grow up and see her develop into her own personality.
Ryan Kohr, Financial Planner
I am grateful to have reached this new stage in my life. I’ve worked through high school, college, and professional designations to get to this point, and I am so grateful that all this hard work is starting to pay off. I get to spend each day doing work that I am passionate about with people that I enjoy being around. I’m grateful for the people and experiences that got me here and I’m looking forward to everything yet to come.
