Bill Keen has a passion for helping others achieve their retirement dreams and founded Keen Wealth Advisors with this goal in mind. Bill’s vision is to build one of the country’s most trusted retirement advisory firms, acting at all times in the best interests of clients. Bill and his team work with an array of clients from all industries but specialize in advising those within the architecture, engineering, and construction community on issues related to ESOP plans, compensation, taxes, benefits planning, and much more.

Bill has over three decades of experience advising clients. His interest in finance was sparked by the financial hardship he experienced in his childhood. By age 10, Bill knew he would need to learn about saving and investing to eventually help his family. He opened his first investment account in high school. Today, his team treats all the firm’s clients like family members, as he understands first-hand the importance of planning for one’s financial future.

Bill shares his wisdom and experience in his bestselling book, Keen on Retirement – Engineering the Second Half of Your Life, which is available on Amazon.com. He also co-hosts a regular podcast series, Keen on Retirement, in which he shares his insight on current issues related to retirement planning and investing. An early adopter of podcasting, Bill’s podcast is nearing its 10th year of production with over 200 episodes available on all the major podcast platforms. He has been featured on national media outlets such as U.S. News and World Report, Reuters, The Wall Street Journal’s Market Watch, Forbes, and Yahoo! Finance.

Bill has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Central Missouri. He is honored to have received the Distinguished Alumni Award for Service for 2023 from his alma mater. In addition, he has presented at UCM and lectured on investing at the University of Missouri Block School of Business graduate program and multiple corporations in the Kansas City area.

Bill is an instrument-rated private pilot and carries high performance, high altitude, and complex endorsements. He is a member of the Malibu/M-Class Owner and Pilots Association and regularly flies his Piper Meridian to destinations across the country. He is also a volunteer pilot and serves on the board for Angel Flight Central. This non-profit assists those in need by arranging flights for healthcare and other humanitarian purposes. Bill has served on the board of the Children’s Center for the Visually Impaired, which helps children with visual impairments reach their highest potential. He has also been involved with or supported the Boys and Girls Club of America, Family Conservancy, NAMI, The Kansas City Girls Preparatory Academy, Camp Quality Kansas, Camp Quality Missouri, The Veterans Community Project, Make-A-Wish, Exodus Cry, Kansas District Optimists, and others.

As a cycling enthusiast, Bill is also a supporter of the cycling community and Keen Wealth Advisors serves as the title sponsor for the Big D Cycling team. The team competes throughout the U.S. and participates in bicycle rodeos to conduct helmet fittings and bicycle repairs for children. In 2013, along with The Kansas Cycling Association (KCA), The Keen Wealth Cup was created as an annual recognition of the top KCA team, as well as an opportunity to support junior racing in the state of Kansas.

Bill and his wife, Carissa, enjoy the outdoors and the joys of having a blended family of five children. Bill and Carissa head up the Bill and Carissa Keen Charitable Foundation and make regular grants each year in support of the community.

As Chief Investment Officer and President, Matt is responsible for the analysis and allocation of client investment portfolios, and he serves on the executive leadership team. He also works with clients as one of the firm’s most senior financial planners.

Matt has been instrumental in delivering upon the strategic objectives of Keen Wealth Advisors and has worked side by side with founder and CEO Bill Keen, for nearly two decades. He began working with Bill in 2002 as an intern and progressed to serving on the operations side of the business to his current position.

Matt has a bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance with a minor in economics from Rockhurst University. Matt is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional who holds life, accidental, and long-term care insurance licenses in multiple states.

Matt and his wife, Amie, live in Parkville, MO with their children, Tyler and Clara. Matt enjoys participating in many hobbies. At a young age he would immerse himself in whatever activity he became interested in. He always enjoyed the outdoors and attended every Boy Scout camp he could and became an Eagle Scout at 14. Post college he became interested in endurance events and participated in ultra-marathons and triathlons. He has completed several triathlons, a half Ironman, many 50k trail runs, and a 100-mile foot race in the Flint Hills of Kansas. Currently, Matt has traded his running shoes for a Corvette and Porsche Cayman and enjoys traveling to different racetracks across the US. He competes in time trials, sprint and endurance races, and also enjoys many driver education events.

As operations manager, Jamie directs the administrative functions of the firm and works to maintain a strong company culture.

Jamie has been in the financial industry for over 20 years. Prior to joining the firm, she was a senior service advocate at Farmers Insurance Group, where she focused on maintaining organizational culture. Before that, she worked at Ascensus, a leading retirement and college savings service provider. While there, she led a team in answering clients’ retirement plan questions, processing transactions, and ensuring timely and accurate trades. She also led the employee activity team in improving the company moral of more than 500 team members.

Jamie has a bachelor’s degree in organizational behavior from the College of St. Scholastica. She has volunteered with Go Red for Women luncheons, Kinship Partners, and as a Sunday school teacher. She has also volunteered with youth groups and soup kitchens.

In her free time, Jamie enjoys spending time with her husband as they watch their children play competitive ball. When time allows, she also enjoys spending time on the lakes of her home state, Minnesota.

As a senior financial planner, Jesse creates retirement projections and develops financial plans that take into account the intricacies of Social Security, employment benefits, estate planning, insurance analysis and college planning. Jesse works with clients to create comprehensive and customized financial plans that help them achieve their retirement dreams.

Prior to working at Keen Wealth Advisors, Jesse worked at Triune Financial Partners as a financial planner. He also previously served as the finance and donations coordinator for an inner-city ministry where he had the opportunity to learn about fiduciary-based financial planning. Jesse began his career as a grain trader, buying grain from farmers to be sold to domestic and international companies.

Jesse has a bachelor’s degree in business administration, with an emphasis on finance and banking, from the University of Missouri–Columbia. Jesse is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER ^TM professional and holds the CHARTERED RETIREMENT PLANNING COUNSELOR ^SM designation. He is currently a member of the University of Missouri Personal Financial Planning Industry Advisory Board as well as the Financial Planning Association.

Jesse grew up on a family farm that was founded in 1886, which holds the designation of “Missouri Century Farm.” Today, he lives in Overland Park, Kansas, with his wife, Sarah and son, Elijah. Jesse and Sarah enjoy volunteering at Legacy Christian Church and attending Royals and Chiefs games.

Josh’s interest in financial planning was inspired by watching his parents and grandparents retire successfully after years of diligent and disciplined work. He strives to incorporate the same disciplined approach as he helps clients on the road toward achieving their retirement dreams.

Prior to joining the firm, he worked in public accounting at Ernst & Young.

Josh has a master's degree in accounting and a bachelor's degree in finance and accounting, all from Iowa State University. Josh is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional and also a Certified Public Accountant (CPA)*.

Josh grew up in Overland Park, Kansas, and met his wife, Matti, at Iowa State University. He enjoys entertaining his wife’s home improvement ideas and trying to keep up with his son, Leo, and daughter, Lucy, and their two golden retrievers. He also enjoys spending time at the lake in northern Minnesota.

Prior to Keen Wealth Advisors, he was a financial planner with Financial Avenues. Paul is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional, upholding the standards of the designation for the benefit of Keen Wealth Advisors clients.

Paul is a local product, graduating from Blue Valley West High School in Overland Park and earning his bachelor's degree in Marketing from the University of Kansas, where he was an All-American and Team Captain of the Jayhawk Men’s Cross Country and Track & Field teams. He also served as a student senator and as the college ministry director at his church. After KU, Paul pursued his running dreams, qualifying for the 2012 Olympic Trials Marathon and winning the 2012 Kansas City Marathon. He still runs regularly and has taken on a new challenge in the triathlon.

Paul loves spending time with his wife, Becca, two children, Calvin and Norah, and their rowdy Goldendoodle, Finn. He also enjoys volunteering, visiting art museums, and finding live music in and around the Kansas City area.

Lisa Brummett holds an undergraduate and graduate degree in psychology from Northwest Missouri State University, with experience working as a long-term care agent for a national insurance company. Prior to joining Keen Wealth Advisors, Lisa spent two decades working as a licensed clinical counselor.

Lisa is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER ^TM professional and a CHARTERED RETIREMENT PLANNING COUNSELOR ^SM designee. Both designations focus largely on the retirement process, estate planning and asset management during pre- and post-retirement. Lisa plays a crucial role in our organization by providing financial planning and relationship management to leads. She collaborates with marketing to research and review leads to promote our services.

She considers herself a lifelong learner and feels that her passion for learning has led her down the journey of becoming a financial planner. She also has a passion for volunteering, which is something that she first started doing as a student at NWMSU. While in school, she was fortunate to get involved in their K.I.D.S. program, and still to this day maintains a close relationship with her “little brother” from the program.

Lisa also loves fitness and can be found running trails, half marathons, and sprint triathlons. When she’s not running, she can be found hanging with her children, Allison and Robbie. Lisa is a strong supporter of Allison’s interest in the performing arts. She and Robbie share a love of Tae Kwon Do and have both obtained their black belts.

He is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional and holds the CHARTERED RETIREMENT PLANNING COUNSELOR℠ designation. At Keen Wealth Advisors, Jeb coordinates the summer internship program and is a member of the Kansas State University PFP Advisory Board. He also serves as an adjunct professor of financial planning at Kansas State University and is a member of the Financial Planning Association.

During college, Jeb helped students at his university raise funds to build a school in rural Kenya for children orphaned by HIV/AIDS. Given our focus on community impact and giving back to our community, his alignment with Keen Wealth Advisors was a natural fit.

Jeb and his wife, Marcela, enjoy exploring new parts of the city, reading, and hiking with their little girl, who provides them with countless hours of entertainment.

Tyler currently serves in the Kansas National Guard as a Staff Sergeant in the Rocket Artillery unit, and he previously served in the Army as a paratrooper from 2016 to 2019. While in the Army, Tyler was a Team Sergeant in the 173rd Airborne Brigade. Prior to working at Keen Wealth Advisors, Tyler worked at AGI SureTrack where he coordinated shipping and receiving.

In his free time, Tyler enjoys weightlifting challenges, being outdoors, and riding around Kansas City on his motorcycle, going to concerts and comedy shows.

Prior to working at Keen Wealth Advisors, Gibson was a student at Kansas State University. She graduated with a bachelor's degree in conservation biology, with an emphasis in natural resources & environmental science. Gibson worked in a genetics lab for two and a half years while at Kansas State.

As a digital creative & content specialist, Bailee collaborates closely with financial planning team members, compliance, and other members of the marketing department, undertaking visually appealing content for our marketing brand, campaigns, and events.

Prior to working at Keen Wealth Advisors, Bailee was an account coordinator at the Miller Group for a year and a half. Bailee graduated from the University of Central Missouri with a bachelor's degree in digital media production. Throughout college, Bailee was a member of Sigma Sigma Sigma Sorority and was the secretary for the Media Creators Association.

In her free time, Bailee loves traveling with her husband, Brett, spending time with friends and family, playing sand volleyball, learning new things, and diving into a good mystery book.

As a marketing & events coordinator, Mallory undertakes diverse tasks to ensure the success of marketing campaigns and events. This includes planning and executing various events, developing and implementing marketing strategies, and maintaining brand consistency across all initiatives.

Prior to working at Keen Wealth Advisors, Mallory was a student at Oklahoma City University for the first three years of her college career. She then transferred to Oklahoma Baptist University for the remaining year and graduated with a degree in business marketing. While getting her degree, Mallory was also a college athlete and played basketball all 4-years.

In her free time, Mallory loves traveling across the U.S. with her husband, Bryce, and son, Crew. She also enjoys exploring the Kansas City area and reading nonfiction books.

As a client support administrator, Anne is the first voice and face our clients hear and see when coming into the office. She ensures smooth day-to-day operations while providing outstanding customer service to the firm's clients and team members.

Prior to working at Keen Wealth Advisors, Anne worked at Hallmark as an administrative assistant. She received her degree from the University of Missouri – Kansas City, graduating Cum Laude with a bachelor’s degree in theatre performance and a minor in psychology.

In her free time, she is most likely performing in a local theatre production or is spending time at home with her cat, Fiona. She has never met a craft she didn’t like, enjoys reading, and is at her happiest when she’s at a Disney theme park.
