Special Event: You're Invited As We Talk Politics With Washington Insider Greg Valliere
Are you and your portfolio ready for the big changes coming to our country as a result of the changing of the guard in Washington? Regardless of whether it’s Hillary Clinton or Donald Trump sitting in the White House come January, things will change.
We are thrilled to announce that Washington insider Greg Valliere will join us as the keynote speaker at our upcoming summer educational event to help us sort through what’s happening.
Greg Valliere has been around the block. In a career spanning nearly 40 years, he is one of the country’s leading experts in all things Washington including Federal Reserve policy, tax and spending issues, and—of course—politics.
If you watch business television, you may have seen him on CNBC, Bloomberg TV and radio, Fox Business, CNN, or heard him on CBS radio. He is also regularly quoted in the nation’s financial press, including Barron’s and The Wall Street Journal. He even lives in the (in)famous Watergate apartment complex in downtown Washington, D.C.!
You’re Invited to Attend
Going back just a few months, you’d be hard pressed to find anybody who thought Donald Trump would be the presumptive Republican nominee and Bernie Sanders would make such a strong showing against Hillary Clinton. But if there’s anything we’ve learned this political season, it’s that we should expect the unexpected.
Some people say it doesn’t really matter who sits in the Oval Office because the position is bigger than the person. And to some extent, that’s true. Our three branches of government give us a strong checks and balances structure so it’s unlikely one person, whether they are the president, the chief justice of the Supreme Court, or the Speaker of the House, can get too far out of line.
Still, there’s no denying the person we call “the president of the United States” wields enormous power and influence to shape not just what happens in the U.S., but also around the world.
Mr. Valliere recently said, "This extraordinary political volatility hasn't sunk in yet on Wall Street, which needs to come to grips with the fact that [any outcome] is quite negative." Both candidates for the White House have promoted plans that can be viewed as anti-business and Mr. Valliere said it would be a mistake for investors to ignore these potential red flags.
One thing we do know is our summer education event will be filled with great food and fascinating conversation with Greg Valliere! So please join us.
